First-Year Application Deadlines

Transfer Application Deadline

  • Spring 2021 Priority - Nov. 1
  • Summer 2021 Priority - Apr. 1
  • Fall 2021 Priority - Mar. 15


  • Send us your official transcripts (All students)
  • Students with at least a 2.75 GPA applying for the Spring 2021, Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters will not be required to submit SAT or ACT test scores for admission consideration. (Frist-Year Students only)

  • Visit the FAFSA/TAFSA webpage (if applicable)
  • A&M-San Antonio's FAFSA school code is 042485.
  • FAFSA processing generally takes about 3-4 weeks. If you are selected for verification, you will need to submit additional documentation and the process will take longer.
  • Once your FAFSA has been processed, your financial aid awards will post to your student account. You may need to accept your financial aid award(s) in JagWire.

  • The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a program designed to help ensure that all students enrolled in Texas public colleges and universities possess the academic skills needed to be successful in college-level coursework. The TSI Assessment (TSIA) will determine readiness for college-level coursework in the general areas of reading, writing and mathematics. All college students attending a public Texas institution of higher education who are not exempt are required to take the TSIA.
  • Students may be required to submit TSI scores before continuing to Steps 6 & 7.

  • New Student Orientation (NSO) is a great opportunity to learn more about your new University community. This 2-hour online course will provide you with valuable information about student resources, campus policies and expectations.
  • A NSO $75 fee may be required prior to completing NSO online. For questions, contact the Welcome Center at (210) 784-1300.
  • Once you’re ready to complete NSO, you will be able to complete it online at JagWire.

  • Transfer students are not required to meet an advisor prior to registering for classes, however, it is highly encouraged.
  • First-Year students, transient/visiting students, readmitted and post-baccalaureate students are required to meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes.
  • Please note: students may be required to submit necessary TSI test scores before getting advised, if they are not exempt.
  • You can secure an advising appointment online. For questions, contact the Advising department at (210) 784-1307 or email Advising.Center@tamusa.edu

  • Transfer students will be able to register for classes as soon as they complete NSO. Advising is not required.
  • First-Year Students will register for classes during their Online Advising and Registration Session.


  • Pay attention to payment deadlines or you could be dropped from your classes.
  • Typically, if you have already accepted your financial aid awards in JagWire, your classes will not be dropped.
  • However, if your financial aid does not cover the full cost of tuition, you may need to set-up a payment plan.
  • Call the Welcome Center at (210) 784-1300 with questions


  • First-Year Students will attend JagX, a pre-college program before their first semester (required)

  • Transfers are invited to the Transfer Assembly (optional.)
