Medical and Prescription
The A&M System provides an excellent package of benefits to protect employees and their families during their working years as well as during retirement. You may use any doctor, hospital or other provider and receive benefits. However, you receive higher benefits if you use a provider in the plan's network. The A&M care plans are administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. The plan has a prescription drug plan that is administered through Express Scripts which has its own drug deductible and drug copayments.
Employees are eligible to enroll in the benefits plan and life insurance who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months.

The A&M Care, 65Plus and J Plan monthly premiums are paid by the employee on a before-tax basis. The medical coverage premiums are effective September 1 ,2015 thru August 31, 2016 and are subject to change each FY benefit plan year.

The A&M Care, 65Plus and J Plan pharmacy benefit is offered through our claim administrator, Express Scripts. The benefit allows you to use both retail and home delivery pharmacy. Participating retail pharmacy information and formulary information is available at http://www.express-scripts.com.

|+ Wellness Exam|
The Texas A&M University System is taking steps to encourage employees to live healthier lives by actively engaging with a health care provider through utilizing preventive services available under the A&M Care Health Plan. Under this wellness initiative, employees and covered spouses are required to have an annual wellness exam (also referred to as a physical) to receive the lowest health insurance premium rate. Completing the annual wellness exam will ensure that you have the lowest rate for your health insurance premiums.
Why is it important?
Where can I get a Wellness Exam? Wellness exams are considered a complete annual physical or a well woman visit with a provider. You may also take advantage of the wellness exams that are administered by Catapult Services on campus throughout the year (look for HR Notification on Catapult dates).
What do I need to do?
The Fiscal Year runs from September 1 through August 31.
