A: The Jaguar Day One program takes the hassle out of course material buying because course material costs are part of the new "only one bill to worry about" method. This allows every enrolled student access to all required materials on day one. Once you have selected your courses, your course list will be sent to the Campus Store. The Campus Store gets everything ready for you. All you need to do is select the option to ship your course materials to your home if they are hard copies, or redeem instant access to your digital textbook, so please be sure to have the most up-to-date mailing address on file!


A: Yes! You will not pay out of pocket for your required course materials, as program costs are on your fee bill. Average savings to students is sometimes up to 50% over independently-purchased course materials.


A: Yes. We want you to be able to make the decision of how you get obtain your course materials. We sincerely believe that Jaguar Day One will take the hassle out of your book-buying experience, especially with “one bill to worry about”, but should you choose to opt-out of the program, you can do so. Opt-outs are now closed for the semester.


A: You have until the last day to add or drop a course. After that, the opt-out form will be closed.


A: Absolutely. If you find that, during your search, you are unable to obtain your course materials or would prefer to leverage the publisher relationships and pricing that Jaguar Day One has to offer, contact Ursula Vaughan.


A: Just like you are able to opt out until census date of the part of the semester you are enrolled, you must opt back in by the last day to add or drop a course.


A: If your required textbook is offered in a digital e-book format, you will receive the textbook in digital e-book format. If your required textbook is not offered in a digital e-book format, you will receive a physical textbook.

  • If an e-book format is available for any of your required textbook titles, you may access them at  https://brytewave.redshelf.com  or follow the directions sent to your Jaguar email address. Please visit our e-book tutorial page for more tips on using your new e-book. *You may print your e-book using your Print/Copy funds at any print station across campus. 

A: Once you have selected your courses, your course list will be sent to the Campus Store. The Campus Store gets everything ready for you; all you need to do is pick up your Jaguar Day One materials.

  • Fall Semester – All hard copy materials will be sent to your home, and all digital books will be made available through either our new RedShelf platform, or courseware that your instructor may be using. RedShelf generates a special email specific to you in order to access your e-books, so be sure to check your Jaguar mail after registration. Please also be sure to have an updated mailing address on file with the university to ensure prompt delivery. If you are unsure, please contact the registrar
  • Fall Semester - TBD

A: If you would like to keep your books, you absolutely can. You can convert your rental book to purchase by contacting the Campus Store. They will be able to tell you what the residual cost would be to keep your book.


A: If you have not received an email about accessing your digital books, simply head over to RedShelf and click 'Forgot Password'. This prompts the system to link your account. For more details head over to this link.


A: If you drop a class, or if any of your classes are canceled, please make sure to return materials to the Campus Store immediately.  Do not hold onto them until the end of the term .

If you change sections, please check in with the Campus Store so that no unnecessary fees are accrued on your student account.

If you add a class, you will receive an email from the Campus Store once your material is ready to be shipped out.


A: Students love the convenience and ease of accessing their course materials and being ready for classes on Day One!


A: Professors are responsible for notifying (on-time) the Campus Store of materials needed for all classes. Only materials identified by your professor as “required” are included as part of the program. All “recommended” materials will be made available for purchase at the Campus Store and at the following site https://www.bkstr.com/texasamsanantoniostore/home .


A: All books must be returned to the Campus Store by the Monday after finals.

  • The final deadline to turn in your textbooks is the Monday following finals week
  • If you wish to keep a book, or if a book is lost or damaged, you may convert to purchase at the Campus Store at any time throughout the semester by paying an additional cost, determined by title
  • Non-returned materials will be cause for charges and holds applied to your student account

A: After the semester is complete, all course materials and textbooks must be returned to the Campus Store. However, If you wish to keep a book, or if a book is lost or damaged, you may convert from a Jaguar Day One rental to a purchase at the Campus Store at any time throughout the semester by paying an additional cost.
