On behalf of the JagX staff we want to welcome you to Texas A&M University-San Antonio!
JagX is a mandatory program for all freshman and freshman transfer students, the week before the fall and spring semester. JagX is designed to welcome you to Texas A&M-San Antonio and prepare you for a smooth transition by addressing your academic, social and personal needs.
You are a First Time Freshman if you have not attended college since earning a high school degree or GED. You are a Freshman Transfer if you have attended college since earning a high school degree or GED and have 29 or less college credit hours. There is no charge to attend JagX.
SPRING 2017 Admitted Students
JagX has been combined with New Student Orientation to form a mandatory four day program occurring Tuesday, January 10th through Friday, January 13th. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday the program will run from 9:00am-5:30pm. On Thursday, the program will run from 1:00pm-8:00pm. Failure to attend JagX in it entirety could impact your ability to enroll for the upcoming semester.
Remember that JagX is REQUIRED so be sure to mark your calendar today!
The Studio Sessions during JagX are designed to support your academic transition from high school to college. Studio Sessions will introduce you to university-level skills and the expectations you will experience once the semester begins. The goals of the sessions are
- The sessions will facilitate development of core math, reading, and writing skill.
- To develop your vocabulary for discussing these skills and building on them as they transition into university-level coursework.
- To introduce you to resources to help you succeed in college.
During JagX you will recieve a light breakfast everyday, with the exception of Thursday. You will be served dinner on Thursday night. If you have any dietary restrictions or accomodations that you did not notify us about when you completed the pre-orientation form please email firstname.lastname@example.org with that additional information.
A week before JagX you will receive a reminder email with details about where to check in as well as an attached parking permit for the week.
